The Steps of the Writing Process:
1. Prewriting
          2. TPAPT
3. Outline
4. Rough Draft
5. Proofreading/Revising
6. Final Draft/Publishing
 
A Closer Look at the Steps:
1. Types of Prewriting
            *Brainstorming
            *Webbing/Clustering/Mapping
            *Freewriting
            *Interest Inventory
            *Picture Prompt
            *What works for you?
 
2. TPAPT
            Topic – What are you talking about? Where are you going?
            Purpose – Why are you writing? What are you trying to do?
            Audience - Who are you writing to/for?
            POV (Point of View) – 1st/2nd/3rd person? Needs to fit your purpose.
            Tone – Emotion you are writing with. Also needs to fit your purpose.
 
3. Outline
            Can be a conventional outline or a less conventional one.

4. Rough Draft
            This is when you actually take the ideas you have been working on and organizing, and put them into writing.

            *Blue/black ink
            *Normal font with 12 pt. Type size
            *Name/class/title/date in top right corner
